project description
United Site Services (USS) is the nation’s leading provider of port-a-pot rentals with locations from coast to coast. Their previous business model was to collect and treat waste from rental units and transport it to nearby local treatment facilities for disposal. To reduce operating costs and treatment costs, USS is implementing a new program where individual USS sites dispose of the collected port-a-pot waste directly on site via on-site disposal (OSD) and pretreat the waste to further reduce treatment costs.
WCG was contracted by CK Property Group to work on the OSD program team. The program includes the following phases:
Phase 1 - 'priority sites' development, OSD feasibility analysis, and production of individual site investigation reports
Phase 2 - preliminary OSD facility design and industrial discharge application preparation
Phase 3 - final OSD facility design, construction documents, and permitting
Phase 4 - OSD facility bidding and construction
WCG has successfully analyzed the feasibility of 20+ phase 1 sites, and moved forward with several sites for Phase 2. Design and construction of these sites have included the design of wastewater solids removal, preliminary nutrient reduction process, lift station, gravity collection piping, flow monitoring, and composite sampling for permit compliance.
